Is my financial data secure?
Yes. MoneyTrail stores all data locally on your device. Nothing is sent to external servers. Your financial information never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. MoneyTrail works entirely offline. You can track income, expenses, debts, and transactions without any internet connection.
How do I back up my data?
Go to the More tab and tap Export Backup. This creates a JSON file you can save or share. To restore, use Import Backup on the same screen.
What happens if I delete the app?
All your data will be permanently removed from your device. We recommend exporting a backup before uninstalling. Since data is stored only on your device, we cannot recover it.
How does the debt payoff planner work?
MoneyTrail supports two strategies: Snowball (pay off smallest debts first for motivation) and Avalanche (pay off highest-interest debts first to save money). Enter your debts and the app calculates a payoff timeline for each method.
What is the FIRE calculator?
FIRE stands for Financial Independence, Retire Early. The calculator projects how long it will take you to reach financial independence based on your income, expenses, savings rate, and investment growth assumptions.
Can I track multiple household members?
Yes. During onboarding or in settings, you can add household members. Income and expenses can be assigned to specific members for more detailed tracking.
How do I generate a PDF report?
Tap the download/export icon on the Dashboard or Money tab. A PDF will be generated on your device, and you can share it through your phone's share sheet.
